Objective / Purpose:

As the Head of ADME Science, you will be the leader of the ADME Sciences function within the global DMPK&M department and is a global position. You will lead a group of scientists to provide in vitro mechanistic ADME, biotransformation and biodistribution support to Oncology, Gastrointestinal and Neuroscience Drug Discovery Units for developing diverse modality therapeutics and report to the Global Head DMPK.

You will prepare the ADME Sciences functional strategy, lead and organize all activities in-house or through CROs to support projects.

You will have an impressive record of accomplishments and publications in the ADME Sciences and related areas and have knowledge and troubleshooting in in vitro mechanistic ADME, biotransformation, and biodistribution supporting drug discovery and development, and regulatory compliance of ADME sciences studies. You should understand the requirements of ADME data for PBPK modeling, and an understanding of how PBPK impacts research and development.

You must have excellent communication, interpersonal skills, a proven track record of leading, managing, developing, and inspiring scientists.
Accountabilities:
- You will be the subfunction leader and lead in vitro mechanistic ADME, biotransformation, and biodistribution scientists to provide ADME Sciences support with close interaction with development projects to work with GPT & DDU project leaders, DMPK&M and DSRE leaders and representatives, PTS Operations, Reagent Sourcing, BBST, CRO reps, and other relevant study personnel.
- Communicate with the internal and external stakeholders regarding the ADME science project support strategies, assay needs, study progress updates, and ADME Sciences deliverables. Plan with in vitro mechanistic ADME, biotransformation, and biodistribution lead scientists on study activities to meet the established timelines and execute global strategy. Prioritize and re-prioritize activities to deal with urgent and important requests.
- Serve as the ultimate ADME Sciences scientific leader to guide all the activities of a diverse team of scientists and sets scientific strategy for the ADME Sciences team. Anticipate and mitigate potential technical issues and bottlenecks for in-house activities.
- Provide penultimate scientific oversight for outsourced work on method transfer/adoption, development/re-development, sample analysis, and data delivery.
- Actively follow and set the trends of the industry and seek novel solutions to meet ADME Science’s needs. Develop, oversee, and adopt new technologies for addressing the new scientific challenges in project support. Mentor team leaders and scientists as necessary.
- Proactively identify opportunities for self or group members to update professional skills through training or participating in conferences. Contribute to external presentations and publications.
Education & Competencies (Technical and Behavioral):
- PhD degree in a DMPK and/Modeling scientific discipline with 15+ years’ experience, or
- MS with 21+ years’ experience, or
- BS with 23+ years’ experience
- 9 years of Industry experience required
- 9 years of managerial experience required

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$169,400.00 - $266,200.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
